Abstract

High-temperature CO 2 electrolysis requires cathodes that simultaneously exhibit high activity, selectivity, and durability. High-entropy perovskite oxides present a compelling platform to meet these demands. By leveraging configurational entropy, they uniquely overcome the classic activity–stability trade-off; additionally, site-specific engineering and in situ exsolution strategies further enhance their electrocatalytic performance. This perspective examines recent progress, identifies key challenges in mechanistic understanding, and outlines future pathways toward efficient and stable CO 2 -to-fuel conversion.
