Abstract

While advances in acute cardiac care have markedly improved survival [1], there remains a limited understanding of how patients experience recovery beyond hospital discharge, particularly in relation to supports, motivations, and barriers shaping short- and long-term outcomes [2]. Recovery is not solely a physiological process; it encompasses psychological adjustment, social reintegration, and the ability to engage with ongoing care [3]. As such, incorporating consumer perspectives is essential to inform patient-centred models of care [4].
