Abstract

Leadless pacemakers were developed to overcome the limitations and vascular complications associated with transvenous pacemaker leads,1 and dual-chamber leadless pacemakers have recently become available. The Aveir DR system (Abbott, Abbott Park, IL) consists of separate leadless pacemakers implanted in the right atrium and right ventricle, enabling individualized programming through i2i communication.2 The Aveir DR i2i study3 demonstrated the feasibility and safety of implantation, and subsequent follow-up studies have confirmed the reliability and safety of the communication system.
