Abstract

Left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) has emerged as an effective physiological pacing strategy for patients with heart failure and left bundle branch block by restoring near-normal ventricular activation. As adoption increases, unique procedure-related complications are being recognized, including entrapment of the active fixation helix within the interventricular septum, particularly with stylet-driven leads featuring retractable helices. In this setting, forceful extraction may result in helix fracture, lead unraveling, or septal injury.
