Using monophasic potential mapping to visualize the Brugada substrate
Abstract
Identifying treatment targets during ablation procedures for Brugada syndrome often requires provocation tests,1 which induce functional conduction block2 and excitation failure in structurally discontinuous subepicardial myocardium.3,4 Sites of excitation failure lack a clear moment of local activation, making them difficult to identify using conventional electrogram analysis. In other cardiac conditions, functional conduction block has been shown to depend on the direction by which an activation front reaches an affected area.
