Abstract

The effects of heat generation on an unsteady MHD free-convective heat and mass transport micropolar fluid flow along a vertical perforated sheet have been investigated, with the Soret and Dufour effects included in this analysis. The fundamental governing partial differential equations (PDEs) are changed into ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with the use of the similarity conversions. The quasi-linearization method and the shooting method are applied to find the solutions of the resulting nonlinear ODEs. Tables and graphs experiencing physical meanings are used to display the numerical findings. Further, the effects of surface couple stress, skin friction, and Nusselt number are investigated. The fluid temperature and velocity are enhanced, but the microrotation is reduced for larger heat generation parameters and Dufour number. The angular velocity of micropolar fluid is decreased, but fluid velocity and concentration are enhanced owing to a larger Soret number. The local skin friction develops by around 5%, and 74% due to increasing values of Q (0.6-2.2), and Df (0.5-3.0), respectively. The heat transfer rates lessen by approximately 32%, and 145% because of increasing values of Q (0.6-2.2), and Df (0.5-3.0), respectively. Excellent agreement is found when the existing discovery is compared to formerly published outcomes.
