Endovascular Treatment Via Antegrade Popliteal Access for Below-the-Knee Arterial Lesions
Abstract
CASE SUMMARY: A 75-year-old man with peripheral artery disease in multiple below-the-knee arterial lesions involving the tibioperoneal trunk, anterior tibial artery, and posterior tibial artery underwent endovascular intervention using an antegrade popliteal approach. TAKE-HOME MESSAGE: The antegrade popliteal approach may serve as a viable alternative when conventional common femoral artery access is not feasible; it enables treatment of multiple below-the-knee lesions via a single access point, while also facilitating reliable hemostasis.
