Abstract

Many patients with severe asthma continue to experience exacerbations despite using high-dose inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) and additional controllers.1 Tezepelumab, a human mAb, blocks the activity of thymic stromal lymphopoietin, an epithelial cytokine implicated in the pathogenesis of asthma.2 In the phase 3 NAVIGATOR trial (NCT03347279), tezepelumab reduced asthma exacerbations by 56% versus placebo in patients who had severe, uncontrolled asthma despite receiving medium- or high-dose ICS with at least 1 additional controller.
