Abstract

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease linked to heightened systemic inflammation and increased cardiovascular (CV) morbidity and mortality (Svedbom et al., 2025). Systemic inflammatory biomarkers, including neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), are associated with future CV risk and all-cause mortality (Adamstein et al., 2021). Reduction of NLR and hs-CRP by canakinumab was associated with reduced recurrent cardiovascular events in patients with prior myocardial infarction and high hs-CRP (Ridker et al., 2017).
