Abstract

ZNF750, a zinc-finger transcription factor, plays a pivotal role in promoting epidermal differentiation and barrier formation in murine and human skin (Butera et al, 2023; Schwartz et al, 2023; Sen et al, 2012). ZNF750 does this by transcriptionally activating genes coding for proteins involved in lipid processing/homeostasis and stratum corneum development. Sequence variations in ZNF750 have been linked to skin inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and seborrheic-like dermatitis with a psoriasiform phenotype (Birnbaum et al, 2006; Yang et al, 2008).
