Darcy-based thermo-diffusive Casson fluid flow over an inclined porous medium with heat generation and reaction effects
Abstract
This study investigates thermo-diffusive Casson fluid flow confined within an inclined porous surface incorporating the impact of thermal radiation, internal heat generation, together with chemical reaction effects. The Darcy model is employed to represent porous resistance, and suitable similarity transformations return the governing equations to a dimensionless form, which is solved analytically using a perturbation technique. The results confirm that increasing the thermal and solutal Grashof numbers significantly enhances the velocity profile due to strengthened buoyancy forces, whereas an increase in the magnetic parameter suppresses velocity because of Lorentz drag. The Casson parameter exhibits a non-monotonic influence on velocity, reflecting shear-thinning and shear-thickening behavior. Temperature rises markedly with higher radiation and heat source parameters, while larger Prandtl numbers reduce thermal boundary-layer thickness. Concentration decreases with increasing Schmidt number and chemical reaction parameter but increases with the Soret number. Quantitatively, the Nusselt number increases with radiation and heat generation parameters, indicating improved heat transfer, whereas the Sherwood number rises with stronger Soret effects and decreases under dominant chemical reactions. These findings are relevant to polymer processing, thermal systems, and chemically reactive transport processes in porous media.
