Abstract

This work reports on the first experimental determination of the final-state interaction between open-charm mesons (D and D * + ) and light-flavor mesons ( π ± and K ± ), performed by the ALICE Collaboration. The measurement is based on phase-space correlations of particle pairs (femtoscopy) produced in high-multiplicity proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of s = 13 TeV. In the case of D π and D * π , a significant discrepancy is observed between the measurements and the theoretical predictions. Additionally, the performance of the ALICE 3 detector for femtoscopic measurements involving two charm mesons is presented.
