Abstract

Blunt abdominal aortic injuries are an uncommon result of high-velocity trauma, accounting for approximately 5% of all blunt aortic injuries.1 Given their association with abdominal and orthopedic polytrauma, surgical management of blunt abdominal aortic injuries presents unique challenges. Open repair has been the mainstay of treatment; however, endovascular techniques have garnered attention as a viable alternative. Covered endovascular reconstruction of the aortic bifurcation (CERAB) is one technique that has demonstrated promising results in addressing complex aortic pathology while minimizing morbidity and mortality.
