Abstract

Following the development of endovascular aortic repair, there have been numerous publications reporting a decline in open aortic surgeries performed by vascular surgery trainees. The volume and caliber of aortic training received by modern vascular residents and fellows quickly garnered scrutiny and increased attention in the literature and academic realm. Here, we sought to comprehensively review the current literature on this topic, as well as the role and effectiveness of aortic fellowships for vascular surgery trainees.
