Abstract

Robotic surgery has great, unrealized potential in vascular practice. It can expand minimally invasive access options for complex aortic, visceral, and renal reconstructions and establish a third pillar alongside open and endovascular techniques that vascular surgeons are uniquely equipped by their expertise and operative judgement to own. The growing visibility of robotic vascular surgery at major society meetings underscores an important inflection point. However, innovation has outpaced education.
