Abstract

The Latino population comprises a significant share of the global population, with more than 662 million Latinos in Latin America and the Caribbean and another 61 million in the United States.1 Despite comprising such a large portion of the health-seeking population, Latinos are significantly underrepresented in clinical research, magnifying existing health disparities. According to the NIH, in the US, Latinos make up only 6% of participants in clinical trials, while only around 3.4% of oncology clinical trials are conducted in this region.
