Abstract
The impressive feats of machine-learning models in the past decade have been driven by two important factors: novel algorithms and, more importantly, the availability of large-scale datasets coupled with hyperscale compute resources. This trend is particularly evident in two new classes of artificial intelligence (AI) models: generative AI and foundation models.
