Abstract

On Nov 14, 2025, the Argentinian Paediatric Society (La Sociedad Argentina de Pediatría [SAP]; Buenos Aires, Argentina) unveiled that there has been a sustained decrease in the implementation of key vaccines in Argentina’s National Immunization Schedule. The SAP reported that only 46% of children aged around 5 years had received the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine in Argentina in 2024, compared with around 90% of children in 2015–19. This 44 percentage point decrease in the vaccination rate in less than a decade indicates a serious risk of re-emergence of measles, mumps, and rubella in Argentina.
