Abstract

We read with interest the Article by Francisco J Martínez-Martínez and colleagues1 on the genomic determinants of antimicrobial resistance in Helicobacter pylori. The authors should be commended for assembling a large, geographically diverse dataset and for developing a curated catalogue of resistance-associated mutations showing excellent concordance between genotypic and phenotypic susceptibility to clarithromycin and levofloxacin. These findings meaningfully advance the field of molecular antimicrobial susceptibility testing and support the growing role of genomics in precision infection management.
