Abstract

• Titanium nanotube (TNT)-based implant with PLGA and nanofibrillated chitosan coatings were developed. • Sequential release of alendronate and human placenta extract promotes osteogenesis and angiogenesis. • Electrospray deposition and drop casting methods ensure uniform coating and controlled drug release. • Enhanced osteoblast activity, VEGFR-2 expression, and bacterial inhibition zone were observed. • High cell viability, bone marrow stem cell coverage, and improved osteointegration were seen.
