Abstract

This case presents a young patient with migraine headaches and newly associated vertigo. They reported that mild to severe headaches occurred up to 3 days per week, often starting upon waking and lasting throughout the day, limiting their ability to perform activities of daily living. Headaches and vertigo are common complaints; however, diagnosing the source of both can be challenging. Practitioners are guided through patient presentation, differential diagnosis, and diagnostic workup for a definitive diagnosis. Up-to-date evidence-based therapeutic management and appropriate referral, follow-up, and patient education are discussed in relation to the diagnosis.
