Conceptualization of a holistic Circular Economy maturity model for manufacturing companies based on a Fuzzy Logic approach
Abstract
The Circular Economy offers manufacturing companies the opportunity for resource-efficient production and the development of new business models. However, they also face the challenge of successfully managing the complex process of transforming the company towards circular production in a holistic way. Maturity models support companies in this process by indicating their current performance but are often based on subjective assessments and do not consider uncertainty. To overcome this challenge, this paper conceptualizes a holistic maturity model for manufacturing companies based on the Fuzzy Logic approach to aggregate indicators into an overall maturity index and consider uncertainty.
