Abstract

Despite the European Union’s step towards Industry 5.0, some companies are yet to fully adopt Industry 4.0. This article explores the use of VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) as 4.0 technologies within the context of 5.0, focusing on the human-centric organization. It examines the specific use of VR and AR in a variation of industrial operations from three case companies in the light of theories on human centricity and the technology acceptance model. The cases are carried out and analyzed through a qualitative research methodology with empirical data based on observations, participation, and interviews. Findings will be discussed at both individual and organizational levels.
