Abstract

A study was carried out on a trapezoidal welded truss 8000×560 mm with parallel chords subjected to operational loads applied to the nodes of the lower chord. A computer simulation experiment was performed using the SolidWorks software package. Structural, technological, and operational factors of the real truss design were taken into account. Numerical datasets and graphical information were obtained regarding the parameters of the stress-strain state in the structural elements of the truss under different levels of operational loading. The results show that the highest stresses are formed in the support-adjacent areas of the upper chord. The maximum permissible operational load on the lower chord is 560 kN. The findings support the safe operation of the investigated truss.
