Vibration analysis of lightweight spur gear system considering flexibility
Abstract
ABSTRACT Gear systems are widely used in aerospace and other fields. To achieve lightweighting and improve the phenomenon such as vibration and noise, holes are often made in the structure. The opening holes have significant impacts on the mechanical properties within the structure, as well as on the dynamic characteristics. This paper proposes a dynamic modeling method for the two-stage spur gear flexible system of fiber braided composite materials applicable to various web hole types. The open-hole structure is analyzed through domain decomposition and coordinate mapping techniques. A dynamic model of the meshing pair of spur gears was established based on the meshing spring theory. Based on the established model, the displacement and acceleration responses of the system were solved using the Newmark method. The dynamic transmission error and torsional acceleration response of the system were analyzed. The influence of structural parameters on the system vibration was also analyzed, providing an effective reference for the design and application of lightweight spur gear systems.
