Abstract

In this study, we present Evapex 1 , an analytical framework based on boundary layer theory for modeling vapor transport in solar stills, alongside a numerical model developed using COMSOL. Validation shows that Evapex achieves average errors of 5.27% against experimental data and an exceptional 1.6% against the Chilton‑Colburn model. The numerical model achieves -10.15% against experiments and 3.9% against Chilton‑Colburn. The remarkably low error of Evapex demonstrates its outstanding accuracy, making it a powerful and efficient tool for designing passive solar desalination systems.
