Abstract

Although preferences for MaaS have been explored, the effects of transportation captivity on the adoption of MaaS plans have not yet been revealed. Current research investigates the demand and willingness to pay (WTP) for MaaS plans distinguished based on transportation captivity. An online survey is conducted in Hungary, and it includes a stated preference experiment. The preferences are estimated by using multinomial logit and mixed logit models. The results demonstrate that the participants prefer the plans containing public transport (PT) and bike-sharing services. Moreover, females living in the capital with university degrees are more inclined to adopt MaaS plans, and the WTP value for PT is similar to the actual price. This paper sheds light on the price range of the plans and services, and the results are beneficial for MaaS operators and mobility service providers joining the MaaS scheme in the future.
