Abstract

• Patients with cardiac amyloidosis (CA) and atrial fibrillation are at high risk for thrombo-embolic as well as bleeding complications. However, there is a paucity of data for left atrial appendage occlusion in these patients. • We found that while there was no significant difference in overall composite primary outcome (death, stroke, transient ischemic attack and thromboembolic events) between patients with and without CA; those with CA had outcomes similar to patients without CA with intermediate to high CHA 2 DS 2 -VASc scores. • A propensity matched analysis similarly revealed significantly worse outcomes in patients with CA.
