Abstract

Seismic probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) is critical for confirming the safety of nuclear power plants (NPPs), yet its implementation remains challenging due to its inherent complexity. Thus, this paper introduces EHRA, a MATLAB-based GUI, developed to facilitate seismic PRA for NPPs. EHRA consists of five integrated modules: hazard, fragility, systems analysis model, risk quantification, and output. Unlike existing commercial tools, this tool can test advanced computational algorithms and provide regulatory verification while adhering to nuclear industry standards in an open framework. The applicability of the proposed tool is demonstrated by validating its results against published studies and codes for an actual NPP.
