Abstract

Public passenger transport plays a key role in modern cities and regions, not only in terms of mobility, but also in terms of sustainable development and reducing environmental impact. An efficient public transport system depends on two fundamental pillars: passenger satisfaction and the ability of service providers to deliver high quality and coordinated transport services. Given the different needs of both parties, there is a growing need to develop a methodology to facilitate the interaction between passengers and service providers. This paper focuses on the design of a methodology that allows for a better integration of passengers into the integrated transport system, while providing providers with tools to manage operations and services more efficiently. The proposed methodology emphasizes transparency, digitization, environmental aspects and flexibility to changing traffic conditions.
