Development of barrier-free solutions for selected railway station platforms in Central European countries
Abstract
This paper deals with the definition of the basic characteristics of stations with level access island platforms (access via pedestrian crossing). It describes the approach to legislation on this topic in selected Central European countries. It then presents five solutions from different countries and evaluates their design. It concludes with some recommendations based on the experience of the railway stations examined.
