Abstract

Military mobility has become a strategic issue in defence cooperation of European countries. NATO and the EU collaborated closely in this area and jointly proposed measures to improve military mobility. The ability to quickly transport military personnel and military equipment across borders is a sensitive policy area, and, consequently, today, a range of physical, legal and regulatory barriers impede military mobility in Europe. Slovakia represents a critical transit point for military transfers, and its participation in this area is essential. The article described the significant variables in military mobility and possible activities in achieving a higher level of military mobility. The main goal was to point out the current situation of military mobility in Europe, analyse requirements and provide an evaluation of their fulfilment, which led to the creation of conclusions in some points as the recommendations for future activities in the mentioned area.
