Laparoscopic transabdominal resection of an undescended testicle during robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy
Abstract
The incidence of undescended testis (UDT) in the adult population is rare, approaching 1%. It is uncommon for adult males with cryptorchidism to remain undiagnosed until later in life, as most cases are identified during childhood. In this video manuscript, we present an atypical case of a sexagenarian man with prostate cancer who underwent robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALP) and was found to have an incidental intraoperative left intraabdominal testis. We will discuss the surgical approach to this clinical presentation using minimally invasive techniques.
