Abstract

Pakistan, the world’s fifth largest mango producer, faces declining yields due to unsustainable farming practices. This study examines how top management and leadership commitment (TML) influences sustainable mango production (SMP) through the mediating roles of information quality (IQ), human resource quality (QHR), supplier quality (SQ), and supply chain integration (SCI). Data from 151 mango farmers and managers were collected using snowball and convenience sampling, and analyzed through PLS-SEM. Findings reveal that TML significantly improves IQ, SQ, and SCI, while IQ, SQ, and SCI act as strong mediators enhancing SMP. Conversely, the mediating role of QHR is insignificant, suggesting the need for stronger top management and leadership engagement in sustainability initiatives. This research extends the understanding of resource-based and stakeholder theories by linking leadership commitment with agricultural sustainability. Practically, it highlights the importance of technology-driven information systems and integrated supply chain practices to ensure long-term sustainability in mango production.
