Successful extracorporeal membrane oxygenation–bridged rituximab desensitization enabling blood type–incompatible living-donor lung transplantation
Abstract
Living-donor lobar lung transplantation (LDLLT) offers a life-saving option for patients with rapidly progressive respiratory failure when deceased-donor allocation cannot meet urgent needs.1,E1 Although ABO-incompatible (ABO-i) transplantation is well established in kidneyE2 and liverE3,E4 transplantation, its application in lung transplantation remains uncommon and recently explored.2
