Abstract

Jenevieve Mannell and colleagues offer an important reflection on the methodological challenges of evaluating co-design in global health research1. Their Viewpoint articulates a problem many of us recognise: co-design is increasingly invoked as a path way to equity, yet is often measured through narrow or superficial indicators. Their call for theory-informed evaluation, co-developed tools, and expanded impact metrics is timely and essential. Yet the challenges of co-design are not only methodological, they are fundamentally about proximity.
