Abstract

Comrade XXX, My problems have been sorted out. At noon on 6 September [1950], I was leniently released. I only found out that you had departed Harbin after I returned to our apartment on XXX Street. Please let me know as soon as you can what has been happening to the family since we parted. Also, try right away to find a way to mail me my blue work jacket, rubber shoes, black trousers, cap, bedsheets, and so on. I have no clothes that I can wear for work. I am staying in the Teacher’s Federation dormitory for singles where the bed is dirty and I do not have a bedspread.
