Abstract

The development of high-performance dual-responsive chiroptical switches is highly sought after for use in advanced chiroptical technologies. Herein, we describe the synthesis and characterization of the chiral ferrocene amino acid conjugates L-Fc(MeLeu) 2 and D-Fc(MeLeu) 2 . Through variable temperature and in situ spectroelectrochemical circular dichroism experiments, we show how L-Fc(MeLeu) 2 and D-Fc(MeLeu) 2 function as high-performance temperature- and redox-modulated chiroptical switches. Additionally, the potential of L-Fc(MeLeu) 2 and D-Fc(MeLeu) 2 to operate as chiroptical logic gates is outlined.
