Abstract

High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide Liquid-like surfaces featuring dynamic liquid repellency have gained increasing attention in the field of antismudge coatings. Herein, liquid-like epoxy coatings with high transparency and excellent thermal stability were fabricated through the incorporation of polysiloxanes containing polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) chains. Amino-modified polysiloxanes (PSi-PDMS) with varying PDMS content were synthesized and subsequently used as curing agents for epoxy resin (EP) to prepare liquid-like coatings. The as-prepared EP/PSi-PDMS coatings exhibit low surface free energies and outstanding dynamic liquid repellency. The introduction of flexible PDMS chains endows the EP/PSi-PDMS coating with antismudge and self-cleaning properties. Furthermore, the EP/PSi-PDMS coating possesses excellent thermal stability due to the combination of siloxane and epoxy crosslinked networks. This work offers a facile strategy for the development of liquid-like coatings toward antismudge and self-cleaning applications.
