Abstract

Multiple insertions of diphenylsilylene into the Si–O and Si–H bonds of Me 2 PhSi–Y (Y = OMe or H) were achieved by a transition-metal-free diphenylsilylene (Ph 2 Si:) transfer from Ph 2 (Et 2 N)Si–B(pin). This reaction proceeded at 135 °C in toluene, yielding up to seven diphenylsilylene-linked silicon chains.
