Photocatalytic C-3 Acylation of Indoles Using ICF 2 SO 2 Ph as Acyl Fluoride Precursor
Abstract
ICF 2 SO 2 Ph represents an important reagent for introducing the CF 2 SO 2 Ph functionality into organic scaffolds. Here, we found that ICF 2 SO 2 Ph acts as an acyl fluoride precursor, enabling the C-3 acylation of indoles. Under mild visible light photocatalysis, this reaction proceeds smoothly with various nucleophiles. Mechanistic studies confirm that acyl fluoride is generated via cleavage and recombination of ICF 2 SO 2 Ph. This work expands the synthetic utility of this reagent and provides a novel photocatalytic strategy for the direct C-3 acylation of indoles.
