Abstract

Looking ahead, battery research must balance the pursuit of higher performance with considerations of safety, cost, and sustainability.Advances in materials discovery, interface control, microstructural modeling and processing science must go hand-in-hand with recycling-friendly materials and cell design. The integrated research ecosystem at IIT Bombayspanning fundamental electrochemistry, materials engineering, modeling, systems analysis, and recycling -is well positioned to contribute to these challenges.Continued collaboration with industry and national initiatives, together with sustained longterm funding support from public and private institutions, will be essential for translating scientific advances into reliable, scalable energy storage technologies that support a low-carbon future.
