Diverse N 2 Functionalization Enabled by an Unsymmetric Dititanium Complex
Abstract
Di- and multinuclear metal cooperation plays a pivotal role in small-molecule activation and functionalization. Herein, we report a symmetric phenoxide-bridged ligand that supports an unsymmetric dititanium dinitrogen complex featuring side-on/end-on N 2 coordination. This complex possessed a strongly nucleophilic (N 2 ) 4– moiety that readily underwent diverse derivatizations to construct N–C, N–Si, and N–P bonds. Particularly noteworthy are the complex’s reactivities with α,ω-dihaloalkanes, which selectively generate structurally distinct N -heterocyclic compounds, showing the potential in constructing diverse N -contained heterocycles directly from N 2 .
