Abstract

Abstract: Over the past few decades, creativity, aesthetics, and the arts have developed as vibrant domains of scientific inquiry. Increasing methodological rigor has led to a proliferation of new methods and measurements, but also to growing heterogeneity in assessments across laboratories. To address this challenge, the open repository Scales and Tasks of Art and Creativity (STAC; https://osf.io/4s9p6 ) was created. STAC provides a curated, open-access archive of measures related to creativity and aesthetics, consolidating authoritative materials, facilitating consistent implementation, and supporting transparent, reproducible research practices across laboratories and disciplines. By lowering practical barriers to measurement while preserving conceptual diversity, STAC supports cumulative progress in research on creativity, aesthetics, and the arts. Since STAC is conceived as a living, evolving repository, we invite contributions from the wider research community to help the archive grow and expand, situating it as a central resource for anyone studying creativity and aesthetics.
