Abstract

Fig. 1 Teprotumumab is a targeted monoclonal antibody therapy for thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO), offering an alternative to traditional immunosuppressive approaches with notable side effect profiles [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. This infographic summarises the design and results of the pivotal phase II trial confirming its efficacy. This was the first randomised, placebo-controlled trial demonstrating significant reduction in proptosis and clinical activity score in active TAO through an insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-IR) antagonist [ 1 , 3 ].
