Abstract

In the concluding chapter, the structure and contents of the book are reiterated and the relationship between the specific functional adjustments in Section 2 and the universal approaches described in Section 3 is set out. The importance of the social model as a tool for understanding both exclusionary practice and for promoting inclusion is set out, and the need to deploy the social model to successfully implement any legal framework is re-stated. The potential impact of the book upon individual practice is explored by returning to the case study of the student that readers met in the introduction. Readers are then encouraged to consider their own next steps within their own context.
