Gas-based and Solid-based Ammonia Plants
Abstract
In this chapter, gas-based and solid-based ammonia plants are discussed, which account for nearly all current ammonia production capacity. Various technologies for low-carbon fossil ammonia production are discussed. This includes both newbuild gas-based ammonia plants using natural gas, and decarbonizing existing gas-based ammonia plants. Solid-based ammonia plants using coal, biomass, and solid waste are also discussed.
