Abstract

A stepwise reaction between [Ge 9 Hyp 3 ] − and CuI/K(C 5 Me 5 ) yielded the {Ge 9 Hyp 3 } hybridized double-decker sandwich cluster [{Cu(C 5 Me 5 )} 2 (η 3 :η 3 -Ge 9 Hyp 3 )] – ( 2 ) via [Cu(C 5 Me 5 )(η 3 -Ge 9 Hyp 3 )] − ( 1 ) as an intermediate.
