Abstract

with the key aim to assess whether a wetting transition happens under the effect of the applied electric field or not. In addition, we performed a hydrogen bonding (HB) analysis to study the interaction between water molecules and ILs when an EEF is applied, as this can reveal information about the system's structural characteristics. By means of these investigations, we hope to evaluate the electro-wetting responsiveness of these ILs and investigate the viability of applying an electric field to induce a wetting transition.
