Biofilm development, dynamics, and control in a pilot drinking water network with different pipe materials
Abstract
In this pilot-scale study, biofilm levels were higher in PEX pipes than in metal pipes. Hydrodynamic cavitation and magnetic water treatment had varying effects on PEX biofilm levels, which also correlated with seasonal changes in water temperature.
